Semifinal Recap

TWO TEAMS ARE LEFT! The semifinals are done, and we are down to our final two republics. Let’s see what went wrong

1. The Sneaky Greek v. 4. Q - The Greeks are on to another title game! After completely rolling through the entire regular season and demolishing everyone in the way, Zack came out firing again in the semis to drop another 230 point outing to solidify the franchise’s third championship game appearance ever and first since 2021. We all ripped Zack during the draft for picking a team of old guys, but huge games from each of Derrick Henry, George Kittle, and Jared Goff led the way with even older Davante Adams out with injury. Q could not keep up, as one of the lowest scoring teams of the regular season came back for the semis as Q couldn’t even break 140 points. Complete and utter collapse all across the field, and our Los Angeles based franchise is surely going to be looking at coaching changes in the offseason. The Greeks, meanwhile, are off to the title game in what has been an absurdly dominating season behind a group of fossils that he rolls out on a weekly basis - that also now includes 44 year old grandfather Philip Rivers. Let’s riiiiiiide

2. The Kosher Nostra v. 6. Sloppy Joe - Despite coming in as the 6 seed, AutoJoe was actually the 2nd highest scoring team during the regular season. That continued this week as Joe put up over 200 points for the 3rd consecutive week, this time dropping 244 on Mike behind a ridiculous 71 combined points from his Stafford-Puka stack alone. The Cheese came in with high hopes after another divisional title - the 6th in franchise history, most of any team in the league - but could only muster up 141 points in a bizarrely poor showing. Looking at the roster though, you can’t be expecting much out of Colby Parkinson and Audric Estime in the semifinals of the greatest league of all time. The Kosher Nostra just couldn’t Meyer Lansky his way into a victory this time, but that will happen when you’re facing 71 points out of just Staffy and Puka. Sloppy Joe is now in the finals for just the second time in franchise history, with the only other time being the 2021 season - when he beat Zack on the stat correction and tiebreaker chaos. Joe is gonna need another crazy score to compete with Zack, and if he can get a repeat performance from all phases of his roster like he did this week he could have a chance after getting 55 points from his two RBs, 24 from his linebackers, and even getting 12 points out of Titans punter Johnny Hekker, who was swiftly rewarded for his efforts by the Sloppy Joe front office

ELIMINATED!

10. Boof - Brock was coming off of his 2nd title in just 3 seasons after many years of waiting, and he’s gonna wait some more after injuries decimated his lineup and he is ELIMINATED(!) from playoff contention. He’s currently 3-11 after a big win and is tied with our next team for last place but loses the H2H tiebreaker and has to pay trophy shipping, which stings extra since he is also defending champ and currently has the trophy. SUCKS

9. The Law Firm - Our league counsel is 3-11 and tied with Brock, but he lucked out by Brock also losing his final game and beating the Boof in week 8 to win the H2H tiebreaker for not last place despite a 3-11 record. Either way, he’s ELIMINATED!

8. Coach Rubs - DAWG all I had to do was set lineups and I woulda been in the playoffs for the 2nd straight season? Instead I’m 5-9? Thas bullshit dawg if only they had a button on the app to automatically set your full lineup for you. ELIMINATED!

Fun fact: all 4 of Logan’s wins this season except the nonsense final week one have come when he has scored over 200 points. He has scored under 200 points in every other game and lost all of them

7. Commissioner Stalin - How obvious was this? The Soviets lost two (2) games in the first 4 weeks of the season due to stat corrections on Wednesday night, and are eliminated before week 14 even starts due to tiebreaker. Even if Stalin wins and the 6-seed loses, Stain is still out due to H2H tiebreaker. Would’ve been a lot better if the H2H win was a stat correction win, but alas. ELMINATED!!!!!

6. The Toll Booth - A brutal loss against Q ended a bizarre season for the Toll Booth, where she finished with the lowest points scored in the league on the regular season but still somehow qualified for the playoffs. A loss against Q in the wild card round ended her year after she swept him during their two games this season, so karma does in fact appear to be a bitch as she is ELIMINATED!!

5. HI-Life Ganja Farmers - Djavan’s heartbreaking run continues as a brutal showing in the wild card round comes after he missed out on the divisional title and a first round bye due to the tiebreaker rule after an 11-3 regular season. Alas, AutoJoe was too much as the Ganja Farmers are left waiting for that elusive first title for yet another year and are ELIMINATED!!

4. Q - An inconsistent regular season saw Q put up the 3rd lowest points in the entire league during the regular season but still parlaying that into the 4-seed and a home playoff game with an 8-6 record. He then proceeded to blow Nikki out in the wild card round with 236 points, and then followed that up by somehow scoring 100 points less than that in the semis with a brutal 135 point loss. ELIMINATED!!

3. The Kosher Nostra - Team Wisconsin established a new league record this year with the franchise’s 6th divisional title to break a tie with the Ganja Farmers for most all time, but it was all for naught with a miserable 141 point showing in the semifinals to lose to the 6-seed. Mike also was the 6th highest scoring team on the season despite winning the division, so it was a well deserved L in a season where everything ended in a 6 for packer boy. ELIMINATED!

2025 CSFFL CHAMPIONSHIP preview

Unbelievable. Our 15th CSFFL Season will culminate in a rematch of the infamous 2021 Stat Correction-Tiebreaker Title Game with Zack and Joe facing off after being the top two scoring teams in the regular season. As we all remember, back in 2021 Zack won a close game (which included home field advantage in the championship game per league rules at the time) just to have a stat correction on Wednesday night revert the game to a tie, which he then proceeded to lose on a tiebreaker (bench points) because Joe’s bench outscored him by 4.25 points. Got all that? Good.

As you can imagine, Zack is still pissed about this outcome and has been fighting to get back to the top ever since. Neither team has made the finals since then, and neither have even made the semifinals since back in 2022 prior to this season. Zack swept Joe during the regular season, including a potentially record setting 260 point blowout in week 12, but we all know how hard it is to get that three game season sweep in the greatest fantasy league on earth.

This rematch of the 2021 Championship Game is sure to be hilarious, with one team likely to put up an absurdly high score and still take an L. That matchup had an amazing matchup with Ryan Tannehill and Davis Mills starting at QB for Sloppy Joe, with Taysom Hill starting at QB for Zack on the other side. It also featured the likes of Chase Claypool, Chargers Mike Williams, and some WR from the Saints named Deonte Harris that I have legitimately never heard of in my life who apparently now goes by Deonte Harty? Can’t make it up. Also featured in that 2021 title game? Sloppy Joe started Davante Adams - still with the Packers back then - and Zack’s own hometown Steeler Cameron Heyward.

Both Adams and Heyward are currently on Zack’s roster in the rematch.

Let’s go

1. The Sneaky Greek v. 6. Sloppy Joe - With the 2025 title game falling on the weekend between Christmas and New Years, there have been too many games on too many days before Sunday. What a mess. Zack has already had literally half of his team play and it’s not even 1PM kickoff on Sunday, and he’s likely not gonna enjoy the outcome. Zack got less than 7 total points combined from Jared Goff and Jahmyr Gibbs on Christmas Day Football and also saw a few defensive guys put up low scores as well. Derrick Henry came in to save his chances after an absurd 45 point outing on Saturday Night Football, but he’s still projected to lose. Sloppy Joe saw Jake Ferguson score a touchdown early on in the first game of championship week and then proceed to instantly get hurt and leave the game, and most of his offensive guys don’t go until the late window or SNF - and of course, his Stafford-Puka stack going on MNF. That’s likely to mean we’re going to have this one go down to the wire, and please for the love of god no more stat correction tiebreakers. May the best peasant win, the other will be ELIMINATED
