WILD CARD Recap

The Wild Card Round has ended peasants, and two more republics have been ELIMINATED!! Let’s see what happened

HI-Life Ganja Farmers v. Sloppy Joe - Two of the highest scoring teams of the regular season faced off here in this wild card battle, but only one managed to keep that trend going as the Ganja Farmers lost nearly their entire crop this week in a brutal showing where they couldn’t even crack the 150 point threshold. Only Josh Allen managed to score over 15 points, and guys like Justin Jefferson and Mark Andrews dropping solid 3’s is not what you need in the playoffs. AutoJoe had no such issues on the other side of the ball, with five different players scoring 20+ points on the offense alone and 22 points from his LBs to add to the piling. The Ganja Farmers lose a heartbreaking game after a great regular season and are ELIMINATED(!) while Sloppy Joe moves on to the next round and is two wins away from another title

Q v. The Toll Booth - After resting the starters in the final week of the regular season, Q came out firing in the wild card round with an absurd 236 points behind 64 combined from Amon-Ra and Bo Nix and double digit scores scattered throughout the rest of his lineup. Q even got big games from the likes of Dalton Schultz and DeAndre Swift in the victory, with his lineup being easy to set with half his team injured and on the bench. Nikki, who also rested the starters in the final week of the regular season, showed off that lowest scoring team in the regular season energy with a very average 171 point game. Courtland Sutton and Chris Olave tried to hold it down, but Malik Washington just couldn’t add enough value to get the Brits the victory. Nikki is now ELIMINATED(!) while Q moves on to the semifinals

ELIMINATED!

10. Boof - Brock was coming off of his 2nd title in just 3 seasons after many years of waiting, and he’s gonna wait some more after injuries decimated his lineup and he is ELIMINATED(!) from playoff contention. He’s currently 3-11 after a big win and is tied with our next team for last place but loses the H2H tiebreaker and has to pay trophy shipping, which stings extra since he is also defending champ and currently has the trophy. SUCKS

9. The Law Firm - Our league counsel is 3-11 and tied with Brock, but he lucked out by Brock also losing his final game and beating the Boof in week 8 to win the H2H tiebreaker for not last place despite a 3-11 record. Either way, he’s ELIMINATED!

8. Coach Rubs - DAWG all I had to do was set lineups and I woulda been in the playoffs for the 2nd straight season? Instead I’m 5-9? Thas bullshit dawg if only they had a button on the app to automatically set your full lineup for you. ELIMINATED!

Fun fact: all 4 of Logan’s wins this season except the nonsense final week one have come when he has scored over 200 points. He has scored under 200 points in every other game and lost all of them

7. Commissioner Stalin - How obvious was this? The Soviets lost two (2) games in the first 4 weeks of the season due to stat corrections on Wednesday night, and are eliminated before week 14 even starts due to tiebreaker. Even if Stalin wins and the 6-seed loses, Stain is still out due to H2H tiebreaker. Would’ve been a lot better if the H2H win was a stat correction win, but alas. ELMINATED!!!!!

6. The Toll Booth -

5. HI-Life Ganja Farmers -

SEMI FINAL preview

1. The Sneaky Greek v. 4. Q - The Greeks come in as the easy 1 seed after an 11-3 regular season that saw them put up the most points in the league by a wide margin - 215 points more than the 2nd highest scoring team. Zack clinched the East Division for just the second time in franchise history, with the only other time the Greeks won the division was back in 2018, when they ran the table and won the whole thing. Q comes in after dropping an absurd score in the wild card round, but he’ll need to keep that going if he’s gonna beat the top team so far in 2025

2. The Kosher Nostra v. 6. Sloppy Joe - Another season, another Kosher Nostra division title. Mike’s 6th divisional win gives him another first round bye and puts him in sole position of first place in league history for most division titles won at 6, one ahead of the Ganja Farmers. Sloppy Joe, while coming in as the 6-seed, was the 2nd highest scoring team during the regular season and comes in hot after another 200 point outing. Who knows what AutoJoe will do on a weekly basis, but he’s on a roll and hoping to keep it going to defeat the Cheese and get to the finals
